Plaquemines Parish Family Gras Returning to Eastbank on Feb. 27

Quila Encalade Named 2022 Grand Marshall

Plaquemines Parish Family Gras 2022 will take place on Sunday, February 27, on the Eastbank of Plaquemines at the Davant Park from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. including special performances, music, food and vendors.

Quila Encalade, a lifelong resident of the Eastbank of Plaquemines Parish, has been announced as the Grand Marshall for this year's event. She is a a proud 1990 graduate of Phoenix High School.

Encalade was employed at Phoenix High School as a Teacher’s Assistant for seven years before moving on to her current employer, Stolthaven New Orleans LLC. As the Logistics (Customer Service) Manager at Stolthaven New Orleans, Quila is the first and only African American female manager in the history of the company.

She also serves as the community liaison between Stolthaven and the Eastbank of Plaquemines Parish with the specific goal of partnering with Phoenix High School and our local community leaders to show our kids that we care. Encalade has made a commitment to ensuring that Stolthaven New Orleans will do its part to help our community in any way they can.

There will be a number of food vendors and excellent entertainment for this year’s Family Gras, with all proceeds benefiting Phoenix High School.
