Council Approves Raise for Future Parish President

The Plaquemines Parish president’s position is set to receive a salary increase next term. During the February 13 council meeting, council members approved an ordinance that will increase the parish president’s salary from $100,000 to $140,000.

Council Adjusts Voting Requirments for 'Emergency Fund' Usage

During their February 13 meeting, the council approved an ordinance, introduced by district 3 council member Chris Schulz, that will require a two-thirds vote of the council on any proposition that seeks to transfer funds “out of the fund balance designated for emergencies.
