AARP Louisiana Now Accepting Grant Applications for 2023 Community Challenge

Seventh Annual Pardoning of the Crawfish Set for Crawfish Capital of the World

Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board will host the Seventh Annual Pardoning of the Crawfish at Parc Des Ponts Breaux in Breaux Bridge, the Crawfish Capital of the World. This year’s pardoning will be held on its traditional day, the Tuesday following Mardi Gras, February 28, at 9:30 a.m., at Parc Des Ponts Breaux located on St. Bernard Street in Breaux Bridge.

Did you know that traditional Catholicism is under attack by the FBI for being extreme, and festering terrorism? That’s right! The FBI issued a memo warning of extremists who are infiltrating “radical–traditionalist Roman Catholic organizations known primarily for the love of the Latin Mass.” I thought this was a joke when I first heard about the FBI’s latest blunder. But I kid you not. Such a memo was actually issued by the organization that is supposed to be there to protect, and not to intimidate.

• The University of Southern Mississippi recently released its President’s and Dean’s Lists for the 2022 fall semester. Kacey Faith Nguyen and Anon Rosenzweig, both of Belle Chasse, were named to the President’s List. Landyn J Campiso and Madeline Mae Fernandez, also of Belle Chasse, were recognized on the Dean’s List. The President’s List includes full-time students who earned a perfect 4.0-grade point average (all A’s). Dean’s List scholars are those with at least a 3.5-grade point average, but less than a 4.0.
