Back in May 2025, Plaquemines Parish voters approved an additional sales and use tax proposal for the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office (PPSO). Under this proposal, the Sheriff’s Office was able to levy a 0.25 percent sales and use tax for the purpose of funding an increase in the salaries of parish deputies.
