Neal Joseph Alexis Sr., departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at The Hospice Of Baton Rouge, located in Baton Rouge LA. Mr. Alexis was 94 years old and a native of Triumph LA., and a resident of Baton Rouge LA., for many years. He retired from the Manhattan Transit Authority in New York after many years of dedicated service. He is the beloved son of the late Edward and Enola Alexis. Devoted and loving husband of Shalanda Lorraine Smith Alexis. Beloved father of Neal J. Alexis Jr., Rosa Tindal Dingle (Joseph), Terry Riley (Bianca), Travis Riley Sr. (Ansonia) and Tiron Riley (Ann). He was preceded in death by his only brother John 'Mutt' Alexis Sr. Godfather of James Brown Jr., Perrilyn Alexis and Denese Graham. Mr. Alexis is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 LA-23, Belle Chasse LA. The visitation will begin at 8:30AM followed by a 10AM service. Pastor Jordan L. Robinson Sr. of the New Zion and First Mt. Zion Baptist Churches will officiate. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery in Buras LA.
