Steve Roy “Chip” Galle Jr.

Steve Roy “Chip” Galle Jr. was born on August 11, 1972, and departed this life unexpectedly on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Ochsner Hospital Westbank Campus at the age of 49. He was a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Chip attended Terrytown Academy and graduated from Belle Chasse High School, where he was known as "Elvis." He then attended Nicholls State University and soon after started his career at Chevron Oronite Plant in Belle Chasse LA. He retired from Chevron in December 2020 as a Lab Supervisor. Beloved son of Pam Uhle Galle and Steve Roy Galle. Brother of Dustin M. Galle. Grandson of Patricia Miller Uhle and the late Henry Uhle Jr., Norris Paul Galle and Anna Mae Herbert Galle. Father of Celeste A. Galle. Chip had a love for music and spent hours playing the organ and singing. He loved vintage cars and enjoyed restoring old electronics. He had an outstanding personality and enjoyed being around people. He had a big heart to match his big hearty laugh. If you needed something and he didn't have it, he would manage to get it for you. He was well loved by his friends, co-workers, neighbors and family. To honor Chip's wishes, in lieu of a wake and funeral service, family and friends attended a prayer service to celebrate his life on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the New Orleans Ladies Ballroom, 1771 Stumpf Blvd., Terrytown, LA.
