Melvina Ann Rogers Davis

Melvina Ann Rogers Davis was born on March 15, 1955, to the union of the late Clarence and Margaret Rogers in New Orleans, LA. On November 6, 1976, she was united in holy matrimony to Jackie Reginal Davis. To this union, two children were born. On August 1, 2021, our cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and dear friend was called home to be with her king. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and sisters Patsy Rodgers and Letrice Rodgers. She resided in Port Sulphur, LA, for many years until relocating to Terrytown, LA, after Hurricane Katrina. For the last two years, she resided in Murrieta, CA. While in Terrytown, Melvina was a member of Christ the King Church. Melvina graduated from Boothville-Venice High School, Class of 1973. Melvina touched many lives over the course of 35 years as a para. educator at Plaquemines Parish Schools. She was a woman of God and baptized at Our Lady of Good Harbor Church. She will be most remembered for her love of family, her smile, fun spirit, and feelings of comfort to fellow friends. She loved talking to her friends and family, but especially loved the presences of her four grandchildren: Damon G. St. Ann Jr., Jayden A. Davis, Jeremiah R. Davis, and Amaury J. St. Ann. She leaves to cherish her memory to her two children: Jackie R. Davis II (Tralyn) and Aiesha Davis St. Ann (Damon), sisters, Linda Rodgers, Deborah Jones, Dedria Rogers, brother, Dave Rodgers; and her godchildren: Francois Michele Rodgers, Alcina Rodgers Jr., Gavin Parker and Davonnia Smith, as well nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Relatives and friends attended a visitation and memorial service for Mrs. Davis on October 23, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Terrytown, LA.
