On November 4, 2021, Christopher John Lavignette passed away suddenly at 61 years of age at his home in Belle Chasse, LA. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 15, 1960. He was the loving father of Amanda Lavignette (Ben Sasso), Amy Lavignette (Blaise Cheramie) and loved their brother Justin Waddle. Survived by his parents Brian Sr. and Judy Kelley and preceded in death by the late Charles Lavignette II. Grandson of the late Charles Sr., Mary Lavignette and Robert Sr, Bertha Wingerter. Grandfather of Ben Sasso Jr. (Barbara), Nathan Lavignette (Sophia), and Parker Cheramie. Brother of Dianne Lopez, Charles Lavignette (Tracey), Donna Ullo (Chris), Mary Ring (Gary), Pat Anvick (Robert), Lance Lavignette (Bonnie), Daniel Kelley (Norma), Brian Kelley II, also preceded in death Shawn Kelley, and Mary Stewart. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He graduated from West Jefferson High School and played a major role in the band throughout high school and was also put into the Who's Who in Music for being the best trombone player in Louisiana. Chris was a die hard Saints fan. He loved playing golf and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off of his back. His laughter was infectious and he found comedy in everything. He also adored his canine companion, Gabby. He had many jobs over the years but spent most of his time at Algiers Iron Works, Kody Marine, Kostmayer, Performance, Bollinger, Picou Fradella, Stewart, and CSF Construction. Recently he really enjoyed working at the Lakewood Golf Course in New Orleans. Relatives and friends of the family attended a visitation held in his honor on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 followed by a celebration of life and funeral service on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA.
