The Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival held its 20th annual event in Plaquemines Parish on the weekend of Friday April, 26 through Sunday, April 28. Occurring alongside the world-famous New Orleans Jazz Fest, the Seafood Festival—as usual— offered a more community focused experience to those who attended.

The District Attorney’s Office is delighted to share that its 14th Annual Senior Citizens Day held on April 24 was a huge success with 147 seniors in attendance. The event was made even more special with the presence of some amazing speakers and vendors who had great information to share with our seniors.

VITA Offers Free Tax Help United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA), in partnership with Entergy Corporation, the Asset Building Coalition and Capital One, is amplifying its commitment to the financial well-being of the community through its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites offering free person-to-person and virtual tax preparation services to low- to moderate-income individuals, including persons with disabilities, older adults and limited English-speaking taxpayers. There will be a VITA site at the Plaquemines Parish Community Center located at 115 Keating Drive, Belle Chasse, as well as sites in the other neighboring parishes now through April 15 on Fridays from 9 a.m.
