LDWF Conducts Ride Alongs, Hosts Training Workshops to Improve Menhaden Management
LDWF staff observed fishing operations on menhaden vessels on May 8 and May 23, 2023, to assist with accurate reporting and measuring fish.
LDWF hosted a training workshop on Sunday, June 25, to train the Daybook Fisheries Captains to accurately measure menhaden.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) recently established menhaden reporting regulations (based on legislation during the 2022 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature) that require menhaden companies to report information on their catch beginning with the 2023 commercial menhaden season.
