On Tuesday, January 21 residents throughout Plaquemines Parish—and coastal Louisiana in general—woke up to well-below freezing temperatures and mounds of snow covering their yards, roads, homes, and cars. This was due to a rare named winter storm (winter storm Enzo) that spread out across much of the south, bringing snow and freezing temperatures in a region that rarely ever sees such conditions.
