Pointe a La Hache Ferry Reopens After Two Year Wait
Parish residents, council members, and parish president Keith Hinkley celebrate the reopening of the Pointe a La Hache ferry with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
After over a two year long wait and encountering numerous set-backs and general difficulties, the Pointe a La Hache ferry ramp repairs have been officially completed. And the ferry itself restarted operations on March 18, allowing residents in the southern end of the parish and on the east bank to travel across the Mississippi River without having to drive all the way up to the Belle Chasse ferry.
