Dennis Joseph de la Cruz passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his sisters, Willa Mae de la Cruz Landy, Diana de la Cruz Jakubielski, Angie de la Cruz Buras; brothers Barry Lyn (Black) de la Cruz and Billy Ray de la Cruz, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Willie) Eugene and Thelma Frelich de la Cruz, brothers, Roger Dale de la Cruz, Avery Thomas de la Cruz, Blaine Joseph de la Cruz and sisters, Valerie de la Cruz Byron and twin sister Denise de la Cruz Hebert. Dennis lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures of gardening chatting with friends and family and loving and taking care of his furry children, whom he loved with his whole heart. Dennis had an undeniable ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was one of the kindest and generous people you could ever meet. He opened his heart and home to the homeless by feeding them even though he himself didn’t have much. You could say he was as beautiful as the flowers he grew and cared for so well. Louis Charles Armstrong entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the age of 91. Louis was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish until 2006 when he moved to Gonzales, LA. He enjoyed growing oranges and raising cattle. He was responsible for starting the production of Early Armstrong Satsuma Trees. An Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired from Freeport McMoran after 35 yrs. A beloved husband of Sue Holt Armstrong and the late Joy Spencer Armstrong; survived also by his children, Michael L. Armstrong (Lorri), Gwen Bowers Austin, and Karen Bowers Morris (Richard); he was the grandfather of Nicole W. Maurer, Paul Williams, Jason Armstrong (Brittany), Steven Armstrong (Meghan), David Armstrong, and Louis J. Armstrong; great grandfather to Elizabeth, Brooklyn, Ethan, Koi, Madison, and Amelia; and survived also by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
