Jacquelyn Mae Mackey Hudson transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Riverbend Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Belle Chasse, LA at the age of 72. She was a lifelong resident of Nairn, LA. Daughter of the late Joseph Mackey Sr. and Marguerite Cannon Mackey. Former wife of Micheal Hudson. Beloved mother of Sieda Mackey, Elroy (Jessica) Mackey Sr., Randy Mackey and the late Latrell Mackey. Sister of Joseph Mackey Jr., Vera Mackey Martin and Rick Byron (Carolyn) Mackey. Niece of Regina Vaughn and Ida Campbell. Grandmother of Joshua Sr., Ambria, Randacia, Randall, Elroy Jr., Diamond and Da’Jhai Mackey, Jerold Gibson, Da’Juan Smith, Danica and Taylor Sylve and Da’Jlyn Buras. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Dennis Joseph de la Cruz

Dennis Joseph de la Cruz passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his sisters, Willa Mae de la Cruz Landy, Diana de la Cruz Jakubielski, Angie de la Cruz Buras; brothers Barry Lyn (Black) de la Cruz and Billy Ray de la Cruz, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Willie) Eugene and Thelma Frelich de la Cruz, brothers, Roger Dale de la Cruz, Avery Thomas de la Cruz, Blaine Joseph de la Cruz and sisters, Valerie de la Cruz Byron and twin sister Denise de la Cruz Hebert. Dennis lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures of gardening chatting with friends and family and loving and taking care of his furry children, whom he loved with his whole heart. Dennis had an undeniable ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was one of the kindest and generous people you could ever meet. He opened his heart and home to the homeless by feeding them even though he himself didn’t have much. You could say he was as beautiful as the flowers he grew and cared for so well. Family, friends and others whose lives Dennis touched attended his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Empire, LA 70050. Refreshments and food were provided behind St. Patrick Catholic Church, Port Sulphur, LA following the service.

Daryl Lynn Armstrong Bondi went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the age of 59. Beloved wife of 28 years of the late Thomas Salvador Bondi. Loving mother of Louis Joseph Bondi. Loving step-mother of Chad Bondi (Stephanie), Byron Bondi (Krystal), and Celeste Bondi Baker (Jeremy). Devoted grandmother of 5 grandchildren. Beloved daughter of Louis Charles Armstrong (Sue H.) and the late Joy Spencer Armstrong. Cherished sister of Michael L. Armstrong (Lorri), Gwen Austin, Karen Morris (Richard), the late Kathleen Demandre Fabiano, Christine Demandre Clements, and Patricia Armstrong Williams. Loving sister-in-law of Austin Williams. Daryl is also survived by caring niece and nephews, Nicole Williams Maurer, Paul Williams, Jason Armstrong (Brittany), Steven Armstrong (Meghan), and David Armstrong; other relatives and many, many friends. Born in Port Sulphur, she is a lifelong resident of Buras, LA. She is a graduate of Buras High School, Class of 1978. A loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She enjoyed outdoors working with her plants and flowers, but her true passion was spending time with her son, other family and friends. Louis Charles Armstrong

Louis Charles Armstrong entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the age of 91. Louis was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish until 2006 when he moved to Gonzales, LA. He enjoyed growing oranges and raising cattle. He was responsible for starting the production of Early Armstrong Satsuma Trees. An Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired from Freeport McMoran after 35 yrs. A beloved husband of Sue Holt Armstrong and the late Joy Spencer Armstrong; survived also by his children, Michael L. Armstrong (Lorri), Gwen Bowers Austin, and Karen Bowers Morris (Richard); he was the grandfather of Nicole W. Maurer, Paul Williams, Jason Armstrong (Brittany), Steven Armstrong (Meghan), David Armstrong, and Louis J. Armstrong; great grandfather to Elizabeth, Brooklyn, Ethan, Koi, Madison, and Amelia; and survived also by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Vincent Armstrong and Helen Mamie Buck Armstrong; his daughters, Patricia A. Williams, Daryl Lynn A. Bondi, Kathleen Demandre Fabiano, and Christine Demandre Clements; his brother, Carl Armstrong; and sisters, Isabel Armstrong Baker, and Jeraldine Armstrong Theisges.
