It is with deepest sorrow that we announce that Edi Joel Lara, Jr., our most beloved son, brother, grandson, family member and friend to all, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 5, 2020 at the age of 26. Those who knew Edi lost a family member and friend, but most of all a shining light in our/their life. Virginia Jones Hunter, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday June 2, 2020 at her granddaughter’s home in Marrero, LA, at the age of 92. She was a native and lifelong resident of Buras, LA. She was also a faithful and dedicated member of the First Mount Zion Baptist Church of Empire, LA, for over 65 years where she held many positions such as church secretary, church treasurer, president of the senior choir, president of the pastor’s aid committee, member of the board of trustees, Sunday school teacher and recording secretary of the mission department. She previously retired several years ago from the Plaquemines Parish Government. Daughter of the late Joseph Jones Jr. and Augusta Pansy Jones. Wife of the late Henry ‘Happy’ Hunter. Beloved mother of Lucretia Hunter and the late Sandra A. Hunter. Devoted grandmother of Darra Wilson, Nicovie Duplessis and Nagara Duplessis. Great grandmother of Taivonnia (Todd) Robottom, Makenzie Thorne, Tacretia (Reggie) Okah, Taylenne Howard and Treyven Okah. Sister of the late Vivian Jones Williams and Warren Jones. Catherine “Joyce” Landry Gieseler went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 5, 2020 at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Charles Albert Gieseler; her loving son, Charles Joseph Gieseler; her parents, Lawrence Landry, Sr. (the late Rose Landry, her stepmother) and Corine Griffon Landry Albert (the late John Albert, her stepfather). Patricia Ann Dykes Chanove was born on November 11, 1952 in Bogalusa, LA to the late SA Dykes and Sadie Barbar Dykes. She came from a very large and loving family. She departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at her home in Port Sulphur, LA surrounded by her family and close friends. Beloved wife of the late Herman Kelsey Chanove of Davant, LA, longtime companion of Andrew “T-Will” Williams of Port Sulphur, LA, devoted mother of Wanda Gail Chanove Bartholomew (Craig S. Bartholomew, Sr.), Herman Joseph Chanove and Pamela McCary, and grandmother of Mason Kelsey Chanove, Kyle Joseph Chanove (Devyn Dominik), Hannah Stratton, Candice Morrow and Tyler Forbes. She is also survived by her last living brother Mikes Dykes, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. She was a stay at home mother and wife who loved gardening, fishing, going to the casino, playing pick three, scratch offs and dipping her tobacco. On Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020 while in The Sanctuary of Passages Hospice in New Orleans, the Lord dispatched his angels to the bedside of Brother Terry Lee Bienemy. He was the son of Early Mae Williams and Sidney Bienemy, the stepson of the late Marshall Williams Jr. Husband of June Griffin Bienemy for the past 44 years. Father of Latoya Bienemy and Terry Bienemy Thomas (Lance). Grandfather of Tajalier, Quincy, and Camren Thomas. Beloved brother of Joseph (Denise), Rudolp (Dianne), Signey (Yolanda), Anthony Bienemy, Wanda Narcisse, Regina Picquet, and the late Glenda Isaac and Laura Williams. Stepbrother of Mario and Marshall Williams, Evelyn Randolph, and the late Barbara Williams. Brother in law of Joann Feloss, Brenda Williams (Leo), Vernell Griffin (Wardrena); Lisa Manuel (Troy); Lori Picquet Brodden, Wallace and Steven (Renita) Picquet.
