Melvin Louis Britton, Sr., departed this life on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 70. He was born on April 1, 1950, in Ironton, LA. He is the son of the late Samuel Britton Sr., and Bertha Gibson Britton. He is the beloved father of Melvin Louis Britton Jr., Shanta’ Britton Henry (Torry Sr.), and Travis Damon Britton. He is also survived 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, his sister Bernice Black, and his brother Oliver Britton. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Melvin was predeceased by 13 siblings, along with his parents, Samuel Britton, Sr., and Bertha Gibson Britton. Milton M. Treadway passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of Margaret Dragon Treadway for 76 years. Mother of Treva T. Cairns (Robert), Deborah T. Arnold (Joseph), Maureen T. Blackburn (James), Matthew M. Treadway and the late Deana T. Kirby. Son of the late Claire Landry Treadway and Elbridge Treadway. Brother of the late Eunice Despaux, Eula Branch, Luther, Russell, Eldridge, Calvin and Clifford Treadway. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, a host of loving friends, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He proudly served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division, The Angels. He was a member of the VFW of Port Sulphur and the American Legion of Covington. He was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. (Regina) Picquet Jr., the late Aubrey Picquet, and the late Timothy (Darlene) Williams. He was the loving grandfather of Caysen and Jaycee Howard, and the nephew of James, Sidney (Audrey) and Pam Bentley, Dianne Bienemy (Rudolph), Brenda Henry (Henry), the late Leo Bently (Gloria), Irvin Picquet (Peggy), Anna Etienne (the late Seagle), late Velma Duplesis (Antoine), the late Cynthia and Linda Bentley, late Betty Jean Simeon (late Alvin), Sandra Phelps, Augustine Marshall, Rev. Dr. Alberta Jackson, Octavia Cross (late Pastor Melvin Cross Sr.,), Melisha Bienemy and Julia Picquet. He was the godfather of Sherman Encalade and Janishia Benton. Lora H. Minton passed away on December 13, 2020 in Metairie, LA, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 70. Lora was born in Camden, NJ to the late Douglas and Helen Hancock on September 3, 1950. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Lora grew up in New Gretna, NJ, and later moved to New Orleans, LA where she graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College, then spent her career as an ICU nurse for over 35 years at Ochsner Medical Center in Gretna, LA and was recognized as a “Great 100 Nurse” in 2016. Lora loved traveling, dancing, and music, and she had an affinity for hummingbirds and butterflies. She was known for her kindness, caring nature, and compassion, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Lora is survived by her beloved husband, James “Jimbo” W. Minton, Sr., her daughters, Sandra L. Prather and Tracie L. Odom, her grandchildren, Jordan Prather, Sean Brown, Sadie Orlando, Heather Madison, Zachary Totora, Dean Odom, and Sandra Odom, and by her 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, David Hancock, along with many other loving relatives and friends. Lora is preceded in death by her daughter, Michele Madison, her parents, Douglas and Helen Hancock, and her brother, George Hancock. Glenn Joseph LeBlanc passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, surrounded by his family. Glenn was born in New Orleans, LA, to the late Roland and Marie P. LeBlanc. He was a loving husband to Kathy Ladonna Dean LeBlanc for 24 wonderful years, loving father to Tyler Dean LeBlanc, and Madison Taylor LeBlanc. He was a beloved brother to the late Roland A. LeBlanc (Annette), the late Betty Duvoisin (Herbert, Jr.), and Marie LeBlanc (Nick). He was a beloved brother-in-law to Ronnie Dean, and Kenneth Dean (Lori), uncle to Julia, and Hunter Dean, Dr. Roland LeBlanc Jr.(Debbie), Jeanelle Stein (Jeff), Jason LeBlanc (Kelly), Herbert Duvoisin, III (Kay), Denise Anderson, Andre Duvoisin (Amy), Ronald Duvoisin (the late Dawn Duvoisin). Glenn was the owner of Hobson Galvanizing in Belle Chasse, LA with his friend Steve Arabie before selling it in 1996. He was Vice President of Southland Steel Industrial Coatings in Amite, LA. Glenn was a dedicated parishioner, sacristan, and MC at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in New Orleans, LA before moving to the North Shore. He enjoyed golf, and horse racing. He will be remembered by those he leaves behind as a beloved husband, father, brother, and dear friend who put everyone else’s needs before his own. A Mass was held at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3101 Eton St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM. A private burial will be on a later date.
