Allen “Cookie” Frank Despaux, Jr., was born on July 23, 1941. He departed this earthly life on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the age of 80. Husband of Natalie Baer Despaux. Father of Kevin Despaux, Michael Despaux (Amelia) and Lauren Despaux. Grandfather of Ashley Despaux Loga (Brad), Madison Despaux and Jerry Despaux. Great-grandfather of Lexi Loga and Logan Loga. Brother of Rebecca Despaux. Uncle of Courtney Mistich. Stepfather of Levi Baer (Ashley), Sabrina Baer (John) and Dylon Baer (Madison) Step-grandfather of Jasmine Caban, Sadie Caban and Emma Baer. He was born in Buras, Louisiana and graduated from Buras High School where he excelled in athletics. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His love of athletics continued through his life with the Plaquemines Parish Recreation Program. He resided in Buras until Hurricane Katrina and had been a resident of Houma for fifteen years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn Armstrong Despaux, his son Barry Despaux and his parents, Allen and Mildred Buras Despaux Sr. Relatives and friends of the family attended the visitation and celebration of life services on Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 28683 LA 23, Port Sulphur, LA.
