Clark Malcolm Fontaine, Sr., 88, joined Jesus on April 8, 2026. A native of Buras and most recent resident of Hallettsville, Texas. Clark lived a life defined by hard work, faith, family, and service. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Joan Allen Fontaine. He is survived by his three children: Clark M. Fontaine, Jr. (Kelly), William Scott Fontaine, (Leslie) and Connie Fontaine Kolacny (Dale), along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great joy and pride. Clark was preceded in death by his daughter-inlaw, Leslie Fontaine (wife of Scotty), and by his parents, Leroy Bentley Fontaine and Fannie Mistich Fontaine. Clark devoted his career to the oil and gas industry, retiring after 40 years with Hunt Petroleum, where he worked down Southwest Pass along the mighty Mississippi River. In addition to his professional career, he was a lifelong commercial shrimper whose connection to the water and the Louisiana coast remained close to his heart throughout his life. Above all, Clark was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a devoted Christian who loved Jesus deeply, and a man who found comfort and happiness in Gospel music. His faith guided his life and his kindness will be remembered by all.
