Gene "Rabbit Man" Cross was born on January 18, 1960, and passed away on February 10, 2022, at the age of 62. He was the son of the late Dolores and Wilmer Cross. He was the brother of Gilbert (Mary), Kay (Rogers Sr.), Connie (Allen) Myers and the late Wifred (Floria) and Tyrone (Lisa) Cross. Devoted father of the late Tyrell Ford, Jamal (Marchelle)Ford, Nadia (Dwan) DeGraffe, Renata (Danny) Simmons, and TySheeka Cross. He was the godfather of Laimon Williams Chlonda Cross and John Terrence. Gene was formerly employed at the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office and Plaquemines Parish Government’s Solid Waste Department. He was a member of the Bethlehem African Judea Baptist Church of Point a la Hache. He graduated Phoenix High School Class of 1978. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted niece/ caregiver Trekesha Cross, his children, eleven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, countless cousins, and friends.
