Jan Miller Morgan

Jan Miller Morgan, 68, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2026. Born on November 20, 1957, Jan devoted her life to faith, family, education, and serving the Plaquemines Parish community she loved so dearly. Jan earned her bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and later received her master’s degree in Elementary Education from University of New Orleans. She dedicated her career to shaping young lives through education, teaching at Promised Land, Phoenix Elementary, Belle Chasse Elementary, and Belle Chasse Primary School. She later continued her passion for serving children and families as a 4-H Agent with the LSU AgCenter. Jan also proudly served her community as a member of the Plaquemines Parish School Board. Above all else, Jan’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nonnie, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness and warmth made everyone feel loved. To know Jan was to know compassion, grace, strength, and unconditional love. She had a servant’s heart, always putting others before herself, and she leaves behind a legacy that will live on through the countless lives she touched. Jan and David shared a love that was deep, steady, and unwavering throughout their 49 years of marriage, creating a beautiful family that was the center of Jan’s world and her greatest accomplishment. Jan was especially proud of being “Nonnie.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Whether cheering them on, offering advice, sharing laughter, or simply loving them with all her heart, she made each of them feel incredibly special. She was the kind of Nonnie every child dreams of - gentle, selfless, comforting, loving, and endlessly supportive. Her family will forever carry her love with them. She is survived by her loving husband, M. David Morgan; her daughter, Christina Morgan Walls (Chad), and granddaughters, Ashlyn Durham (Bishop) and Alyssa Allemore; her son, Chad Miller Morgan (Rachel), and grandchildren, Collin Morgan, Caden Morgan (Presley), Reese Morgan, and Crawford Morgan. She is also survived by her mother, Wanda Miller; her sister, Kelli Miller; her brother, Alphonse Miller III (Desiree); her mother-in-law, Diane Timm; her brother-in-law, Mark Morgan (Kim); her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Poole (Breland) and Monica Ragusa (Jason); along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Alphonse Miller Jr.; her beloved son, Clint Morgan; her son-in-law, Chad Walls; and her father-in-law, Jack Morgan. Jan was truly one of a kind a beautiful soul who lived her life with faith, love, and compassion. She was an angel on earth to so many, and while her family’s hearts are broken by this loss, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her precious son, Clint - what a beautiful reunion that must have been. Her love will remain with them forever, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed enough to know and love her. She will be missed terribly by her family, friends, and the entire community she touched throughout her life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM at Celebration Church – St. Bernard Campus, located at 5709 East Judge Perez Drive, Violet, Louisiana 70092.
