Janet Johnson Anderson went to be with the Lord in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on November 28, 2021 at the age of 70. Janet Johnson Anderson was born on January 12, 1951, to the late James B. and Mary Johnson in Gretna, LA. Janet accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Regular Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Daniel J. Power. She served on the Pastor's Aid Committee, where she loved and enjoyed every moment of her service. Janet was educated at Lincoln High School and Holy Cross College. She was employed at the MLK Center as an administrative assistant, Belle Chasse State School, Hope Haven and Jefferson Parish Housing Authority until she retired in 2018. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, James B., and Mary Johnson, her husband, Eugene Anderson, Sr., her brother, James B. Johnson, Jr., and her daughter, Chelsea Mickey. Janet leaves to celebrate her legacy; four children, Edward L. Mickey, Jr. (Felicia), Cyria L. Mickey, Tyjuan Natachia, Ronnie Rene Winchester (Lawrence); 10 grandchildren, Braxton, Tiara (Darius), Tamea, Ashton, Shivay, Chaz, Michael, Jordan, Sean & Kelsey, 20 great-grandchildren and three godchildren, Latoya Polius, Tiitalyn Johnson and Hatory Landry. Janet also raised her beloved nephew, James Roche, as her own. She also leaves behind five siblings, Oscar Johnson, Connie Watson, Leeonell Donaldson, Peggy Lee Johnson, and Joann Omofomwan (Sunday); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and a loyal friend, Charlene Folton of 52 years. Janet was truly loved by all that had the distinct pleasure of knowing her and she touched the lives of many people. Relatives and friends of the family attended the visitation and funeral service on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. Stephens Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA.
