Janice Marie Taylor Andry transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, July 26, 2026 in Athens, Georgia. She was 73 years old and a native and lifelong resident of Boothville LA. Janice was baptized at an early age at True Vine Baptist Church in Venice and has been a dedicated and faithful member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church since Hurricane Camille. Her employment history includes, Conoco Phillips Oil Company, Danos and Curole, Boothville -Venice High School and Denet Towing. Janice was a strong willed, loving and gentle person who always looked for the best in people. She was one of the first black children (known as the Boothville Freedom Children) to integrate Plaquemines Parish Public School System. She also served four years as the duly elected Justice of the Peace in Boothville district nine. Janice is the beloved daughter of Vivian Duncan Taylor and the late William N. Taylor. Wife of the late Rondey S. Andry. Devoted mother of Yolonda A. Riley (Donald) and Rondey Steven Andry. Sister of William Arnold Taylor (late Wanda), and the late Sandra Lynn, Steven N., and Kirk D. Taylor Sr. (Cheyenne). Daughter in law of Angeline St. Ann Andry and the late Eugene Andry. Sister in law of Johnny and Davie Andry and Anita Brown. Granddaughter of the late Lambert and Mazie Jones Duncan and the late William and Olma Smith Taylor. Niece of Lambert Robert Duncan (late Debra), Lloyd Calvin Duncan (late Joyce), Mancil Duncan (Mary Kay), Gary Duncan (Faye), Flora Duncan, Gaynell Crum (Bishop Samuel Sr.), Sedonia T. Rapp (late Leroy), and the late Augrine Encalade(late Willie Edward), Rev. John Taylor (late Thelma), Rev. Joseph Taylor, (late Elizabeth), Herbert Franklin, Benjamin Franklin, Pearl Delores Jones (late Royal), Audrey T. Merricks (late Andrew), and Vivian T. Barthelemy (late Louis). Janice is the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and the great grandmother of one grandchild, Godmother of seven, and devoted friend to many. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Janice will be sorely missed but never forgotten. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
