Jeffrey 'Scottie' Bernert

Jeffrey 'Scottie' Bernert formerly of New Holland, Ohio, Jeffrey 'Scottie' Bernert passed away on September 30, 2024, in Belle Chasse, La., at the age of 45. He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Letha Bernert, formally of New Holland, Ohio, daughter, Cheye'anne Rivet, of Mandeville, La., three sisters: Kelly Blair of Belle Chasse, La., Dawn (Dave) Deyo of Grove City, Ohio, and Mindy Gough (Kelly) of Belle Chasse, La. He is also survived by six nephews: Steven Blair (Madelaine), Zachary Blair, Aaron Deyo, Zane Deyo, Nathan Curliss and Bryce Curliss; as well as three aunts, uncles and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis 'Fuzzy' Bernert (Dorothy 'Dot' Artman), and Hubert Harr (Phylene Melvin), and his sweet Jack Russell (Izzabel). Scott worked as a bricklayer, building homes and building fences. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, looking for lizards and bugs with Cheye, making sling shots from scrap materials, and tinkering with anything he could tear apart and put back together. Relatives and friends of the family attended a Visitation and Memorial Service on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Robinson Family Funeral Home, in Belle Chasse, La.
