Melvin "Poppa" Jones, Jr., departed this life on Tuesday November 30, 2021, in Katy, TX, at the age of 70. A native of Algiers, LA, and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Husband of the late Barbara Mosley Jones. Father of Matthew (Melissa) Jones, Natasha Mosley, Donna Knighton and the late Davon Mosley. Son of the late Melvin, Sr., and Eliza Felo Jones. Brother of Patricia Martin, Ethel Washington, Shirley Jackson, Claudell Williams, Shedrick Jones, Sr., and the late Maxine Cotton and Elenora Cosse. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also Pastors, Officers, and Members of Philadelphia Christian Church, Second Baptist Church, Second Nazarene Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches attended the visitation and funeral services on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Philadelphia Christian Church, 3127 Gen. Meyer Ave., Algiers, LA. Interment: Eureka Cemetery, Algiers, LA.
