Minister Shafter St. Cyr was a lifelong resident and well known in the community of Ironton, LA. He was born July 18, 1956, to the union of the late Haywood Sr., and Elsie Mae Grandison St. Cyr, along with three siblings. He was raised by their grandparents, the late Ezekiel and Gladys Grandison and Annie St. Cyr. He was the son-in law to the late Clarence and Bertha Townsend. He departed to be with the Lord on February 5, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte, their three sons: Shafter Jr. (Shamone), Marlon (Kourtney) and Terrance (Keisha), nine grandchildren and two godchildren, Maggie, and Sierra. He also leaves to mourn his three siblings, Patricia (Alvin) Thomas, Haywood Jr. (Rita) and twin brother Shelden (Andrea) along with many nieces and nephews. Minister Shafter was employed by Donovan Marine for 43 years and served well in Ironton community church as a drummer and percussionist. Relatives, Friends and Employees of Donovan Marine were invited to attend a celebration of life service on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church in Belle Chasse, LA. Interment: Ironton Cemetery. Repast followed at the Congratulations Event Hall in Gretna, LA
