Nathan Sims, age 81, of Buras, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 21st in Oak Grove, Louisiana, Nathan was a proud country boy at heart. He exemplified and taught his family the value of hard work and integrity. He had a natural ability, determination, and a willingness to take chances. He built several successful businesses including Sims Welding, TCB Industries and Sims Citrus Farms. He was an amazing cook and would often feed the entire village with seafood boils and pig roasts. He was a devoted father to five children, a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a delighted great-grandfather to one, each of whom was a source of pride and joy. He is preceded in death by his mom, Martha Womble Sims, dad, Cullie Sims, brothers, Charles Sims and Orville Sims, sisters, Nadine Sims Langley and Shirley Sims Wainright and is survived by his children Mark Sims (Crissy Miles Sims), Michael Sims, Stacy Sims Hughes (Brett), Martin Sims, and Alex Sims, grandchildren, Conner Sims (Nicole), Gunnar Wilson, Ashlyn Sims, Aylah Sims, Preston Sims, Alexis Hughes Caudill (Chez), Alana Hughes, Annalise Hughes, Max Sims-Baldwin, and Paige Sims-Baldwin and great grandchild, Cadin Sims. He also is survived by his twin sister Naomi Gulledge (Mike), sister Geneva Bridges, and brothers Bobby Lee Sims and Gary Sims. A celebration of Nathan Sims’s life was held on November 23, 2025 at The Crossroads Church in Belle Chasse, LA beginning at 1:30 p.m and fellowship followed. Nathan’s legacy and love will forever live in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
