Paul James Becnel Jr., a lifelong resident of Naomi, LA, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the age of 30. Beloved son of Connie Austin Becnel and Paul James Becnel Sr. Brother of Nicole Becnel Darbonne (Spencer), Uncle to Kane Scott Darbonne. Paul James is survived by his grandparents Lois Danos Becnel and Robert Ray Becnel Sr., Glenda Maddox Austin, Tellis Roger Austin and Mary Ellen Austin. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Paul James was a graduate of Shaw High School. He was smart, handsome, and talented. His passions included working on the family-owned, sixth-generation orange orchard and playing with his cat Lila. He loved watching Jeopardy with his mom and playing Jenga with his dad. Paul was known for his linguistic skills and could sell ice to an eskimo. He loved holding his nephew and playing with his little toes. Paul James will be greatly missed by many who loved him dearly. Friends and family attended a visitation and funeral prayer service on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chasse.
