Sylvia Carol Yuratich McNabb

Sylvia, a woman of rare beauty both inside and out, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Gardens in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 90. Though she lived nine decades, she possessed a youthful spirit and a zest for life that meant she truly never acted old. A proud native of Buras and a resident of Plaquemines Parish for most of her life, she kept the 'good ole days' alive for her family, sharing her heritage through colorful sayings and a quick wit. To her, there was no greater sound than laughter, and she was always ready to hear a good joke or story. Her kitchen and garden were her sanctuaries, where she spent many hours. She possessed the adventurous soul of a forager, finding joy in the wild beauty of the outdoors while hunting for mushrooms or gathering thistles. She truly loved the abundance of southern Louisiana and all it had to offer. She was defined by a selfless, giving heart and a deep devotion to her family. She is now reunited with her one true love, her husband, Glynn, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. A devoted mother to her three children, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and the reminder to stay young at heart. She is survived by her three children, Glenna Thea Bryant, Patrick Shane McNabb, and Deborah Ann Stockstill, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many dear friends who will miss her kind and generous spirit. In accordance with her wishes, she has been cremated, and the family held a private ceremony to honor her remarkable life.
