Belle Chasse Elementary School Names Camardelle as Teacher of the Year

Belle Chasse Elementary (BCE) School’s fourth-grade teacher Jennifer Camardelle was named BCE’s 2022-2023 Teach of the Year. Camardelle has been teaching for 31 years and 16 of those year have been at Belle Chasse Elementary.

BC Primary Pre-K Students and Families Enjoy Prime-Time Reading

Families of Belle Chasse Primary (BCP) School’s Pre-Kindergarten students had the opportunity to gather for 90-minute sessions, starting on Oct. 5 and continuing through Nov. 9, for shared meals, story-haring, and hands-on activities as part of the Prime-Time Preschool Reading program for ages 3-5.

BVES October Students of the Month

The students pictured were named Boothville-Venice Elementary School (BVES) October Students of the Month for meeting the school-wide behavior expectations (be respectful, be responsible, and be safe all month long). A presentation was made in their honor on October 31.

Between October 19 and October 28, Phoenix High School, Boothville-Venice Elementary School, South Plaquemines Elementary School, and Belle Chasse Middle School 4-H Clubs traveled to Myrtle Grove Marina for their Annual Aquatic Education Clinic.

IN THE GARDEN: Tricks for Planting Root Vegetables

One of my favorite easy weeknight side dishes involves simply roasting an assortment of root vegetables cut into chunks, tossed in olive oil on a sheet pan with some garlic and onions. This works great with turnips, radishes, carrots, beets, and parsnips.
