BVES Welcomes all “Whooo’s Ready to Learn!”

Open House for Boothville-Venice Elementary School (BVES) took place on Thursday, August 25. Maria Prout, principal of BVES, gave an introduction to faculty and staff as she welcomed parents and guardians to the 2022-2023 school year with the theme “Whooo’s Ready to Learn.” She gave a brief overview of expectations and activities for the school year.

TC Energy Fnd. Contributes to Forest Restoration at Woodlands Conservancy

Woodlands Conservancy is thrilled to announce the addition of a new partner in forest restoration. Woodlands Conservancy recently received notice of their successful grant application during a conference call with representatives of the TC Energy Foundation. The grant of $39,000 for “Forested Wetland Assessment and Restoration” will be used for forest restoration and citizen science monitoring at Woodlands Preserve.

2022 Orange T_n Qu_n & Orange Qu_n to be Crowned on Sept. 10

The 76th Annual Plaquemines Parish Fair & Orange Festival Teen Queen Selection will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 4 p.m. in the Belle Chasse High School Auditorium. The Orange Queen Selection will follow at 7 p.m. Entry fee: $10 for adults; $5 for students. Teen Selection entry allows for Queen Selection entry with a wristband.
