Another Questionable Bailout for Big Banks!

Body
Well, here we go again. Big banks are “high-fiving” each other after they won big in Washington last week. We thought government regulators had learned an expensive lesson after the financial crash in 2008 that led to massive bailouts at taxpayers’ expense. Back then, the financial industry was allowed to carry on high stakes gambling with your money. And now, it’s déjà vu as the Biden administration has followed precedent set by the Trump regulators and reopened the casino doors.

Plaquemines Parish Special Olympics Bowling Team Takes Home Wins From First State Competition

Body
Plaquemines Parish’s Community-Based Special Olympics Bowling Team competed in their first state competition in Baton Rouge on March 4. Both parents and coaches were very proud of the athletes for all of their hard work and dedication during the several weeks of practices that led up to the big day. Not only did their individual skills improve, the athletes also came together to support and encourage each other as teammates. Their new skills and strong bond paid off as each athlete placed in their divisions.

Each year, horticulture specialists from the LSU AgCenter evaluate a few hundred newly developed and heirloom plant cultivars for suitability in gardens across the state of Louisiana. These plants can be trees, shrubs, edible landscape plants, flowers, and ornamentals. They can be Louisiana native plants, recently released selections from plant breeding companies around the world, or locally loved pass-along or heirloom plants. Promising candidates are selected by a trial committee and planted in research plots around the state. One of the largest trial and evaluation centers is the Hammond Research Station, which features sun and shade garden trials, urban street tree evaluation plots, greenhouses for nursery trials, and an extensive collection of ornamental landscape plants.
