On her 90th birthday, Juanita Louise Ferree Ray passed into God's loving care. She was at home and left us quietly during the night. She was born January 20, 1932, and died January 20, 2022, in Kenner, LA. She was born in Texas and spent much of her childhood in Port Sulphur. She was married to Bennie Ray in 1953 until his death in 1982.She worked for BellSouth for many years. She was a long-time member of Parkview Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She played piano and took great joy in church music as well as classical and opera. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Harrison Ray, her brother, Edwin Bennett Ferree (Henrietta) and her sister Lois Ferree Wheeless (Jim). She is survived by three children, David (Pam), Gianna, and Gary (Sabrina), her grandchildren Jesse, Brittany, and Emily (Colton) and great-grandson Gatlin and her brother, J. Thomas Organ (Gladys). Juanita was also sister-in-law and aunt many times over with many of those nieces and nephews having children and grandchildren as well. A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 19 at Parkview Baptist Church in Metairie, LA .
