Donald Halphen passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024 at his daughters home in Arroyo Grande, California. Born in Buras, LA, on March 6 1937, he was the son of Helen Zuvich Halphen and Roger J. Halphen Sr. He is survived by his daughter Michieline Halphen, his grandson Joshua Halphen and his brother Robert Halphen (Barbara), nieces Leann Halphen Newman (Chad), Jamie Halphen Goleman (Mac), nephews Corey Halphen and Lee Seaux (Jennifer), cousin Donald Zuvich as well as several other cousins and cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Roger and Helen Halphen, brother Roger J. Halphen Jr, sister Martha Halphen Seaux, nephew Roger Halphen Jr. and son Ritchey Halphen. A mass was held in his honor, December 6, 2024 at St. Patrick’s church in Arroyo Grande, Ca. Donald served proudly and honorably for four years in the United States Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. He was a lifelong fisherman and legend in his hometown of Buras. He took with him all the secrets of where the fish are and there will never be another fisherman as knowledgeable or respected as he was. He was a strong man, tough as nails on the exterior but had a soft heart. He would tell all his family and friends to say your prayers and draw closer to God.
