Carolyn Ashcraft Puckett, a native of Belle Chasse, LA, and a current resident of Pineville, LA, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the age of 78. Carolyn graduated from Belle Chasse High School and went on to study Social Work at Southeastern University, she later received her master’s degree from LSU in 1987. She began her career working in several hospitals before opening her own practice, Freedom Counseling Center, in September 1997. Those who knew Carolyn were welcomed by her love and gentle kindness. She was a woman whose life was centered around the Lord, and she took pride in leading others to know the Lord she enjoyed serving regularly at her church River Outreach Center. She loved baking and cooking and took great pride and joy in her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Puckett; her parents, Goldie Ashcraft, Sr., and Shirley Keller; and one sister, Janice Lillie. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Michael Puckett of Pineville; one daughter, DeAnn Ryland of Pineville; two grandchildren, Matthew Ryland and Kaitlin Ryland; two brothers, Goldie Ashcraft, Jr. (Teshia) of New Orleans, and Frederick Ashcraft (Mary) of Belle Chase; and one sister, Lola Rutherford (Bobby) of Belle Chasse.
