Happy National Adopt a Senior Pet Month!

Body
At the Louisiana SPCA, we have pets of all different ages that range from less than six-months-old, to 14-year-old seniors! While small kittens and puppies may be adorable, senior pets are just as lovable and loyal as their younger counterparts. We think dogs and cats at any age would make great additions to a family, but we are very excited to dedicate an entire month to highlighting the value of adopting a senior pet.

Plaquemines Parish Wetlands Day

Body
Louisiana Sea Grant and the LSU AgCenter hosted a Wetlands Day in Port Sulphur on Friday, November 5, for nearly 100 third and eighth graders. Students were from Boothville-Venice Elementary and South Plaquemines High School. The students learned about geology, comparative anatomy of mammals, water quality, interacted with mystery objects in touchboxes, and took an airboat ride. For the third graders, it was their first-ever school field trip.
