Louisiana Treasury receives $5.63 Million in Uncashed Tax Refunds

State Treasurer John M. Schroder today announced the Louisiana Treasury Unclaimed Property Program has received $5.63 million in uncashed state income tax refunds from the Louisiana Department of Revenue. The money has been placed in the Unclaimed Property Program, where it can be easily claimed.

Phillips 66 supports SBP's Appeals Clinics for Ida victims

Phillips 66 Alliance Refinery contributed $5,000 towards SBP’s FEMA Appeals Clinics in October as part of its charitable focus on Hurricane Ida recovery. The FEMA Appeals Clinics help disaster survivors across the region quickly secure post-disaster funding that is critical to their livelihood, health and long-term recovery after a storm.

BVES Jr. Beta Club brings home awards

Boothville Venice Elementary School Jr. Beta Club attended the Beta Leadership Summit on Oct. 27-28 in Lafayette. Members participated in several competitions. They received awards for Outstanding Leadership School, Collaboration Connection, and Lead Outside The Box. They qualify to attend the National Beta Convention in Nashville in June 2022. Few things are as satisfying as eating something that you grew yourself. Few things are easier to grow than a salad. Most leafy salad greens take approximately 30 to 50 days to harvest, and can be grown in raised beds, in the ground, or in just about any size or shape container planter. The cool season months make for excellent growing conditions with few pest or disease problems in our area. Here are some salad growing tips and some of my favorite varieties to grow.
