Harold Joseph Foret, Sr.

Harold Joseph Foret, Sr., entered the gates of Heaven on October 8, 2024, at the long-lived age of 91. He gracefully joined his parents, Laurent & Gladys Foret and his beloved wife of 53 years Helen D. Foret. Harold is survived by his only sister, Joyce F. Knight (Leroy) and his six children, Bonny Borne (Owen III), Harold Foret Jr. (Stacy), Bobby Foret (Loretta), Tommy Foret, Mark Foret, & Andy Foret (Kimberly). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Harold was born in Raceland, La., on February 3, 1933. After high school, he joined the Army and was deployed during the Korean war. Once the war ended, Harold moved to Plaquemines Parish in 1955, where he worked for Freeport-Sulphur until retirement. He bought a house along the bank of the Mississippi River in Port Sulphur, where he and his wife raised their beautiful family. He loved to spend his days on his swing, under his giant pecan tree watching his children and grandchildren grow. Harold was an avid gardener and had many crops of fruits and vegetables! He also made sure to supply everyone around him with his bountiful harvest. We are thankful for his service, as well as the many memories he leaves behind with us. Relatives and friends of the family attended a Visitation and Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Port Sulphur, La., to celebrate his life. Interment: St Patrick Cemetery's Mausoleum, Port Sulphur, La. Please visit www.mothefunerals.com to view and sign the online guestbook.
