On Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 Leon 'Scab' Trufant entered rest at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Leon was born on August 22nd, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Melvin and Hattie Trufant Sr. Leon married the love of his life Mary Lee Trufant. Leon is the father of Adasha Trufant Thomas (Nuraud) and Heather Cornin. He was the stepfather of Germaine Smith, Bert Turner and Jerman Turner. The brother of Joicelyn Trufant, Jr, JoAnn Williams (Irvin), Rodney Trufant, and the late Melvin Trufant Jr., and Gilda Trufant. Brother-in-law of Irvin Williams Sr, Robert Smith, Frankie and Anthony Smith, Catherine and Junious Wilson, Waldell Frazier, Ronnie Frazier (Cathy Frazier), Rasharon Toussaint, and the late Shannon Frazier and Donnie Frazier. Leon was the godfather of Martina Gabriel. Leon attended Scottville and Belle Chasse High Schools. He worked at Brown and Root for several years. He retired from New Orleans Charter Science and Math School as a maintance tech in 2022. If you know Scab you know he loved the New Orleans Saints. In his leisure time he would go to the casino and race track with his homeboys. He loved spending time with his family boiling seafood and barbequing. It was never a dull moment when Skeeto Brown was around. Leon is proceeded in death by his parents Melvin and Hattie Trufant Sr, brother Melvin Trufant Jr and sister Gilda Trufant. Leon leaves to cherish in his memories his wife, daughters, grandchildren, sisters, brother, sister-in-law's, brother- in -law's, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
