(February 11, 1953 - November 25, 2024) Robert was born in Port Sulphur, La., the son of Dalcho W. Stringeld and Marie Rose Elston. He was raised in Buras, later graduating from Buras High School in 1971. Robert then went on to attend Northwestern State University, in Natchitoches, La., graduating in 1977. Robert married Patricia 'Pat' Ann Meilleur on June 22, 1985 at the Church of Christ, in Algiers, La. In addition, Robert worked at Shell Venice Terminal from 1978 to 1993. He also worked at Venice for Flores & Ruckes, later Ocean Energy until 2000. Robert and Ann initially lived in Belle Chasse, moved to Harvey and later Longview, Tx., after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Robert held several jobs after moving to Longview . Robert developed pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2024. Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia; siblings William Richard Stringeld, of Marrero, La., and Susan Yvette Stringeld, of Arabi, La.; niece Sallie Elston Stringeld; and great-nephew Garion Stringeld, of Spring, Tx. Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Dalcho Stringeld and Marie Elston, and brother Charles David Stringeld. No service was held and he was cremated.
