Oscar “Dr. Nunu” Alphonse Williams

Oscar “Dr. Nunu” Alphonse Williams entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Oscar was born on October 7, 1953, to the late Joseph and Victoria Williams, Sr. Beloved husband of Barbara Thompson Williams, for 35 years. Loving father of Mickeria Sr., Trenisha, Raygina, and Dixie Sylve, stepfather of Wanda, Charlotte, Wendall Thompson, and the late Denise Mercadel. Brother to Joseph Sr., Josephine, David Sr., Carl Sr., Calvin Sr., Jeneta, Elizabeth, the late Penny Viola, Avis, Dwight Sr., Carolyn, Steven, Winona, and Roshon. Also survived by nine granddaughters, fifteen grandsons, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives, friends, members of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Assumption Mission Church, as well as all neighboring churches of Plaquemines; employees of Plaquemines Parish Government, former Brown and Root, and Phoenix High School are invited to attend. A celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Oscar “Dr. Nunu” Williams was held at St. Thomas Catholic Church 17605 Hwy 15, Pointala- Hache, LA on Saturday May 16, 2026. The visitation began at 9am followed by an 11am service. Father Sampson Abduli officiating and entombment followed in St. Thomas Church Cemetery.
