Pearl Louise Camel Hill

Pearl Louise Camel Hill, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-greatgrandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her children. Pearl was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Earl Hill Jr., and a devoted mother to her children Rudy Hill (late Cladius), Cynthia Brocks (Clarence), Catherine Turner (late Ricky), Cheryl Riley (Joe Jefferson), Onethia Maxwell (Akida), Patricia Hill, Keilen Williams (Angle) and the Late Earl Hill III. She had a passion for cooking and gardening. Her dirty rice was famous, and her flower beds were legendary. She was often seen working in her garden tending to her roses and flowers. She had a daily routine of calling all her children, brothers and friends. Pearl was born to the union of the late Sedonia Bienemy Camel and Enos Camel Sr., on April 15, 1936, in Phoenix, Louisiana. A friend, mama, and maw maw to many, she was a cherished member of the community. Her greeting of “Hey baby”, and sweet smile was her signature calling card. Pearl loved the Lord and for over 88 years he clearly ordered her steps. She was often heard reciting her favorite scripture Psalms 23. The Lord was her Shepherd everyday of her life. She was proceeded in death by her husband Earl Hill Jr., son Earl Hill III, grandson John Riley III, parents Sedonia Bienemy Camel, Enos Camel Sr., her siblings, Enos Camel Jr., Evelyn Detrion (Lewis Sr.), and Olivia Page (Horace Sr.). Her father-in-law Earl Hill Sr., Mother-in-law Mildred Hill. Sisters-in-law Lilly Moliere, Ruth Simeon (Mose), Loyce Campbell (Alphonse Sr.), Charlotte Ann Peters. Her brothers-in-law Irving Hill (Josephine) Walter Hill, Felton Hill (Lilli Rose), Sylvester Hill and godson Dwayne Turner. Pearl leaves to morn and cherish her memory her children, Rudy Hill, Cynthia Brocks (Clarence), Catherine Turner, Cheryl Riley (Joe), Onethia Maxwell (Akida), Patricia Hill, Keilen Williams (Angel). Her grandchildren: Torian Brocks, Devin Brocks, Kiedra Brocks, Lauren Ragas, Ricketa Turner, Keinthrion Riley, Johntreal Riley, Treavor Riley, Markida Williams, Kennedy Maxwell, Yamane Robins, Kienyon Turner and Matthew Maxwell; 25 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Brothers, Ernest Camel Sr., Alfred Camel Sr., Mitchell Camel, Sister-in-laws Ola Parker, Francis and Mable Camel, Brothers-in-law Wilfred Cosse, Billy Waters. God children Waren Detrion and Akaya Kawana Campbell. Devoted friends Gwendolyn Phelps and Rose Demolle, A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends. Relatives and friend of the family attended the celebration of life service on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Phoenix, La. Pastor Rommel Griffin officiated.
