Walter Andrew Eason Sr. departed this life peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his home in Opelousas, LA at the age of 78. Mr Eason was a native and lifelong resident of Nairn, LA. until relocating to Opelousas following Hurricane Katrina. Son of the late Logan Eason and Bertha Mackey Eason Jones. Devoted husband of Adeline Monroe Eason. Beloved father of Deborah E. Encalade (Lester), Chicquita E. Keller (Angelo), Walter Eason Jr. (Deneisha) and Nolan Eason. Brother of Vanessa Griffin (Rev. Dexter), David A. Durden and the late Alfred O. Eason, Lillie Mae Eason and Shirley Durden Fritz. Mr. Eason is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two godchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and associates. Relatives and friends of the family attended the funeral service on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at Robinson Family Funeral Home in Belle Chasse, LA. Entombment followed in Mackey Cemetery in Nairn, LA.
