Eric Scott Poland sadly left us on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of 35. He was born in New Orleans, La., on February 20, 1989, and was a resident of Belle Chasse for the last 25 years. He is survived by his two children, Joel and Brooklyn Poland, their mother, Melanie West; his mother Glenda Treme' (Josh), his father Eric Hoormann, his siblings, Chad Collier, Sara Marse (Garrett), Cameron Buels, Savannah Treme', and stepsister Joshlynn Treme'. He is also survived by his grandmother Lena Poland, grandfather the late Clyde Poland, and maternal grandmother the late Catherine DiMartino. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Eric had a contagious smile that brought joy to all around him. He had an enormous heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and brightened any room he entered. He was a beloved father, son, and brother. He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them, and if you knew him, you knew it. He will be missed dearly.
